Scene Setter...
Jennies Softball returns home to the South Recreation Complex Tuesday, April 2 for an MIAA doubleheader against the Emporia State University Hornets that marks the beginning of a eight game home stand for the Jens. First pitch for game one is set for 4 p.m. with game two to follow approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first contest. 

The Hornets come into the contest with an overall record fo 21-8 after going a perfect 6-0 last week.

The Jennies went 0-4 last week in MIAA doubleheaders at Northeastern State Friday and ninth-ranked Central Oklahoma Saturday. The Jennies were swept by the RiverHawks Friday, 3-2 and 18-4, before dropping a pair of games to the No. 9 Bronchos Saturday 5-1 and 9-8 in eight innings. The Jens overall record is now 14-12 and their MIAA mark is 4-6.

Series History
Emporia State: Tuesday's doubleheader against the Hornets will mark the 86th meeting all-time. The Jennies trail in the series 52-33 and have lost the last 10 games against the Hornets with their last win coming in 2009. Last season the Jennies were swept by ESU at home 5-2 and 7-6 and fell to them in the MIAA Tournament 8-0. 

Head Coach Susan Anderson
Jennies Softball head coach Susan Anderson is in her seventh season with the Cardinal and Black. She has an overall record of 198-153 as the bench boss at Central Missouri and a career record of 379-325 in 14 seasons as a head coach. 

Prior to coming to UCM, Anderson was at MIAA rival Northwest Missouri for four seasons where she went 124-96. 
Non-Conference Games
Central Missouri has been 782-571 in non-conference games since 1972, the beginning of softball at UCM. In the 'NCAA/MIAA Era' the Jennies have compiled a 638-448 non-conference mark. Anderson has a 110-100 record in non-conference contests.

Conference Games
Central Missouri has posted a 227-128 MIAA mark since the inception of the conference in 1983. Under Anderson the Jennies are 66-38 in conference action.

Home Field Advantage
Since the 1977 season, Central Missouri is 345-150 at home. Under Anderson, the Jennies are 59-21 at home. UCM has gone undefeated in the 2007 (8-0), 1991 (13-0), 1989 (8-0), and 1979 (6-0). The Jennies have compiled a 3-1 record at the South Rec. Complex this season. 

On the Road
Since 1977, UCM has posted a 215-198 mark on the road and a 422-315 record at neutral sites. Under Anderson the Jennies have gone 57-55 on the road and 77-74 at neutral sites. This season the Jennies have posted a road record of 3-5 and are 8-5 at neutral sites. 
Inside the Numbers
Through 26 games the Jennies are hitting .294 as a team while holding their opponents to .258. 

Jakki Prater leads the Jennies offense, batting .363 with 26 RBIs, four home runs and eight doubles. Braylyn Bivens is batting .402 with four doubles and 11 RBIs. She leads the team in stolen bases, stealing 16 in 19 attempts. Medora West has 14 RBIs while Ashlea Bengtson has batted in 13 runs for the Jens. Jill Lucas rounds out the Jennies RBI leaders with 11. 

Prater also paces UCM in the circle, posting a 7-3 record in 15 appearances and nine starts with an ERA of 2.05. The Nixa, Mo. native has struck out 68 batters in 82 innings while walking only 25. She has pitched eight complete games and picked up one save.

The Jennies are ninth in team batting in the MIAA with an average of .291 and 10th in team pitching, posting an ERA of 3.58.

Upcoming Schedule...
The Jennies will continue their home stand Thursday with a non-conference doubleheader against Northern Sun Conference member Augustana (S.D.). Game one is set to start at 1 p.m. at the South Recreation Complex.

The Jens will then host MIAA doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday against Lindenwood and Truman with both doubleheaders starting at 1 p.m.
