LaVance Taylor and senior tight end
Cullen Rosine were named to the D2Football.com All-America Team as announced bu the publication on Tuesday morning. Taylor was a second team honoree and Rosine earned honorable mention honors.
Taylor was a First Team All-MIAA selection after leading the conference and ranking third in NCAA Division II with a UCM single-season record 1,918 rushing yards to go along with 15 touchdowns. He also led the Mules in pass receptions with 38 for 427 yards and two touchdowns and he tied Central Missouri's career record with his third kickoff return for a touchdown early in the 2014 season. He set the Mules' single-season all-purpose yards record with 2,618 and his 218.2 all-purpose yards per game was tops in NCAA-II. He also set a new UCM career all-purpose yardage record with 6,231 career all-purpose yards. He finished his career second all-time at Central Missouri with 3,941 rushing yards. The Raytown, Missouri native was also an AP Little All-America First Team selection and a second team All-American selection by Daktronics.
Rosine was a Second Team All-MIAA choice after finishing second on the team with 34 receptions for 427 yards and three touchdowns. He was also a First Team Academic All-District honoree by CoSIDA. He finished his career as a two-time All-MIAA selection with 75 receptions for 846 yards and eight touchdowns.
The Mules finished the season 8-4 overall and 7-4 in conference play. The Mules won the Second Annual Live United Texarkana Bowl in Texarkana, Arkansas with a 48-21 win over Southeastern Oklahoma State. Taylor was named MVP of the game after rushing for a bowl record 264 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries to go along with three catches for 87 yards and a score.
