Jennies Hoops Stays in Top-10

LILBURN, Ga. (Dec. 12, 2017) - For the second straight week, Central Missouri Jennies Basketball sits in the top-10 of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) rankings. The Jens remained pat at No. 10 this week, after jumping into the top-10 last week.

Central Missouri went 1-0 last week, defeating Northwest Missouri 77-40 in their MIAA opener. The win is the Jennies third straight and pushes them to 6-1 this season and 1-0 in the MIAA.

Not much of a shakeup at the top of this week's poll. The top-10 teams all remain the same, with a few moving around. Ashland and Alaska-Anchorage hold the top-two spots. They're followed by West Texas A&M, Lubbock Christian and Indiana (PA). Lubbock Christian hopped Indiana (PA) from No. 6 to No. 4. Bentley fell from No. 3 to No. 8 this week.

The Jennies remain the highest ranked MIAA team. Central Oklahoma is the only other conference school in rankings. They moved up two spots to No. 23. Pittsburg State is also receiving votes.

Central Missouri also entered the top-25 this week in the D2SIDA media poll at No. 23. They are also third in the central region rankings, which is comprised of the MIAA, Northern Sun, and Great American Conferences.

They aren't in the top-25, but the Jennies face a tough test Thursday night in their next game. They host Missouri Western who is 9-1 overall and 3-0 in the MIAA. That game kicks off an MIAA doubleheader with the Mules and begins at 5:30 p.m.
