Jennies Check in at No. 11 in WBCA Poll

LILBURN, Ga. (Dec. 21, 2017)-- Despite going 3-0 in the last week, Central Missouri Jennies Basketball slipped just outside the top-10 in the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) rankings. UCM fell one spot to No. 11 this week after sitting No. 10 the previous two weeks.

The Jennies picked up three wins since the last set of rankings were released on Dec. 12. Two of their three wins were against MIAA foes in Missouri Western and Southwest Baptist, while the third was a non-conference win against Rockhurst. The Jennies are 9-1 overall this with a perfect 3-0 mark in MIAA play.

The top-10 only saw one new team enter as California (PA) switched spots with UCM to claim the No. 10 spot, while some teams traded places within the top-10. Ashland stands pat as the top team. West Texas A&M checks in at No. 2, while Indiana (PA) jumped Lubbock Christian for third. Carson-Newman is fifth while Alaska-Anchorage fell four spots to sixth after dropping its first game of the season. Bentley swapped places with Drury to sit at No. 7 and No. 8, respectively. Virginia Union remains No. 9.

The Jennies still remain the highest ranked MIAA team. Central Oklahoma still remains in the top-25 and has moved up seven spots to No. 16 in this week's rankings.

UCM also moved up nine spots in the top-25 this week in the D2SIDA media poll at No. 14. They also moved up one spt to second in the central region rankings which is comprised of the MIAA, Northern Sun, and Great American Conferences. 

The Jennies will not be back in action until after the New Year. They will kickoff 2018 with a pair of conference home games on Jan. 4 and 6 against Fort Hays State and Nebraska-Kearney, respectively. Tip-off against the Tigers is at 5:30 p.m., while the game against the Lopers is scheduled for 1:30 p.m at the Multi.
