Jennies Basketball Cracks Top-10

LILBURN, Ga. (Dec. 5, 2017) - Central Missouri Jennies Basketball played one game last week, but moved up two spots in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Poll and into the top-10.

It is the first time the Jennies have appeared in the top-10 since the end of the 2013-14 season. They reached a high of 14 last year.

UCM started the season ranked 13th in the preseason poll, and have moved up to No. 12 and now once again to No. 10.

The Jennies went 1-0 last week with a 78-43 win over Evangel. It was their second straight win as the team has started out 5-1 to start the season.

Central Missouri is the highest ranked MIAA team in the poll. Central Oklahoma fell four spots and hung out to the No. 25 position in the rankings. Pittsburg State fell out of the rankings after their two losses.

The top three are unchanged with Ashland, Alaska-Anchorage and Bentley leading the field. Ashland once again received all 24 first-place votes. West Texas A&M moves from No. 5 to No. 4 and Indiana (PA) makes an appearance in the top-five, moving up from No. 7 last week.

The Jens start up MIAA play this weekend. They host Northwest Missouri State Sunday, Dec. 10 at 1:30 p.m.
