Jennies Sign Two Time Junior College All-American

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (April 20, 2017) - Central Missouri Head Coach, Dave Slifer, is proud to announce the signing of two-time First Team All-American Jolene Shipps, a 6-3 post player and native of Stockton, Missouri.

Jolene spent the last two seasons at North Arkansas College in Harrison, Ark. under the tutelage of four-time Regional Coach of the Year Stacie Klott. The two-time All-American averaged 18 points and 8.5 rebounds for her career, and this past season shot 85% from the free throw line which ranked sixth in the country among all NJCAA Division II players. In addition to the back-to-back All-American awards, Jolene was twice named First Team All-Region.

"Jolene is a fierce competitor who can give us more versatility at the post and forward positions," said Central Missouri Head Coach Dave Slifer. "She is a 4.0 student, has tremendous intangibles and leadership skills and just wants to win. UCM fans will really enjoy Jolene and what she brings to the table."

In 26 games played in 2016-17, Shipps reached double figures 25 times and recorded 11 double-doubles. She was on the Dean's List at Northern Arkansas and scored a career-high 34 points her freshman year.

At North Arkansas, Shipps help lead the Lady Pioneers to a 47-11 record and an appearance in the 2015-16 NJCAA D2 National Tournament. Shipps, who will be a junior next season, joins early signees Madison Sandor and Gigi McAtee as part of the 2017-18 recruiting class.

Shipps played her high school basketball at Stockton High School where she was an All-State performer as a senior.
