WARRENSBURG, Mo. (May 30, 2017) – Central Missouri Women's Basketball Head Coach,
Dave Slifer is excited to announce the signing of Meghan Allen, a 6-2 post player from Oak Park High School in Kansas City, Missouri.
During Meghan's four years at Oak Park, she was named an All-Conference and All-District player for three years, while also being named her school's offensive and defensive player of the year. One of Meghan's best games this past year came against Winnetonka where she scored 30 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. This performance led her to being named to the Winnetonka All-Tournament Team.
Under the tutelage of Oak Park Head Coach Zane Tanner, Meghan averaged 12 points and 10 rebounds throughout her senior campaign, and ended up as the fifth all-time leading rebounder in Oak Park High School history.
"Meghan jumped on our radar at our 2016 Elite Camp. In the camp, she was very difficult to guard and dominated the boards. Coach Nick and I have known Meghan's head coach Zane Tanner for years. He had tremendous things to say about her as a person and player. That combined with the fact she spent six years in the Della Lamb Basketball Organization playing for David Bennet, Maurice Harvey, and Tony Woods makes me feel confident that she can make an impact at this level."
Meghan is the fifth recruit for the 2017-18 class. She will be joined by junior Jolene Shipps, and freshmen Abby Gann, Gigi McAtee and Madison Sandor.
